The grand summer adventure is nearly here! We at Hämäläis-Osakunta are delighted to invite you to spend a summer Saturday with us.
The summer excursion is Hämäläis-Osakunta’s annual tradition, where the nation’s brave adventurers are packed into a coach and transported somewhere around the Häme heartland to explore local culture, happenings and atmosphere. This year we’ll be adventuring on Saturday, 1 August.
We’ll depart early in the morning from Helsinki and return in the evening full of new experiences and memories. With this comprehensive day experience, you’ll get to enjoy pleasant company, beautiful scenery and entertaining programme.
The excursion price includes everything necessary: comfortable transport journey, interesting programme, delicious lunch, afternoon refreshments, and a dinner together with sauna.

The summer excursion costs €40 for Hämäläis-Osakunta cives, €35 for Hämäläis-Osakunta fuksis who first registered during the 2025–2026 academic year, and €45 for senior members and friends. Hämäläis-Osakunta sponsors two guests per friendship organisation free of charge.
We hop on the coach from Helsinki directly from in front of the Häme House at 8:15 and make a pit stop at Koivuniemi at around 9:45. On the return journey, you can stay to continue the evening at Koivuniemi at around 21:00 or continue back to Helsinki, where the coach arrives at around 22:30.
You won’t find out anything about the programme until it’s time, but from the preliminary schedule below you’ll get a general idea of how the day will unfold.

The excursion includes lunch, afternoon refreshments and dinner, of which estimated times you can find in the previous box. You can also bring along your own provisions if you doubt your stamina during the long day.
For drinks, the summer host’s services are available during the coach journeys.
You’ll need to bring at least:
- Yourself!
- Smart summer clothes, colours and other suitable insignia
- A hearty and open mind
- Wallet and student card (just in case)
- Swimwear and a towel if you fancy swimming or the sauna
- As much snacks as you think you’ll need
Remember also to pack for Koivuniemi if you’re staying there overnight! You do not need beddings, however, as you may borrow from Koivuniemi’s linen closet.
